True Meditation
Enlightenment doesn’t come from running away
———
When you meditate, do not attempt to clear your thoughts or try to distract yourself with your breathing. How do you expect to reach enlightenment by shoving your problems and emotions further from your awareness?
Instead, open your mind to its apparent flippancy and chaos. Only as you observe your thoughts, work out your frustrations, and specify your desires will you learn who you truly are, or as it is said, attain self-realization.
Meditation is not a closing of the mind, but an opening. Do not hide yourself in silence.
